BARNSLEY COLLEGE LINK PROGRAMME WITH GREENACRE SCHOOL
How long is the course?
The course will run for one year full-time.
This programme is designed for students where further transition and support are required before students are able to access further education at Barnsley College
What are the entry requirements?
• Students must have an Education Health and Care plan .
• This course is aimed at students aged between 16 and 24.
• A successful interview and taster sessions
What qualification will I achieve?
Qualifications achieved will depend on the individual student aims and aspirations, ranging from Entry Level 1 to Level 1. There is a particular emphasis on re-engagement and participation involving small group work in a supported environment to develop confidence, self-esteem and personal values.
What will I study?
Greenacre School supports learners with additional needs to prepare them for further progression onto a full time Barnsley College study programme or further progression into employment or independent living.
Each learner will have an individual/bespoke learning plan and curriculum timetable to suit their individual needs and interests.
You will study areas in your individual learning plan. These may include the following;
• Personal and social development
• Employability skills
• Functional skills in numeracy, literacy and ICT
Areas of study may include:
• Art
• Creative crafts
• Vocational studies
• Working together
• Problem solving
• Practical projects
• Enterprise
Additional
• Volunteering opportunities
• Community projects
• Enrichment opportunities
• Learning and social support can be provided and support with travel training

You will study at Greenacre School, Keresforth Hill Road, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S70 6RG.
What equipment will I need?
All equipment will be provided.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is continuous throughout the course.
