School Council
Our School Council is a thriving, democratically chosen body of Greenacre students, elected from every class. We meet fortnightly to represent the students’ voice throughout school. Issues such as, school dinners, recycling, British Values, school equipment and budgets and spending have all been debated this year. We have also been lucky enough to meet many diverse visiting speakers including members of Barnsley Football Team, the fire and ambulance services and a Muslim Lady from West Yorkshire. We Skype our councillors at satellite classrooms so that they can join in with the proceedings too; inclusivity and diversity are important aspects of our council.
New members are voted for each year by their fellow class mates so that everyone has a fair chance should they wish to take part; student voice informs much of what we do as a school community.
